Well it's all looking jolly apocalyptic here. No zombies yet, but I expect it's only a matter of time. I have some amount of reserve food if a 7 day lockdown is announced, but otherwise there's not a lot I can do other than keep washing my hands compulsively.
I'm old, but still young enough that if I get pandemic influenza my chances of survival should be odds on. The fact that I live in a remote area might also help, although really everyone is connected to the global economy in myriad and sometimes non-obvious ways. I'm more concerned about other people whose health is not as good and the overall effect on the society/economy.
We've already had a decade of severe austerity with declining living standards and life expectancy, and the normalization of precariousness. The economy is already fragile. It doesn't seem like things can get a whole lot worse, but coronavirus may be about to prove me wrong.
